How We Started
MineryTech came to fruition early this year near the beginning of the Ethereum boom. It was created as the name of a cryptocurrency mining operation between a handful of crypto enthusiasts located in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Between us we had a decent number of ASIC and GPU miners, but we could hardly be classified as a massive operation. We were mostly just a bunch of guys with a fascination of blockchain technologies and the ever expanding number of cryptocurrencies, who were also making a decent bit of mining income in the process.
Only near the end of the Ehtereum boom, when the profibility of mining many cryptocurrencies went down, did we realize how blessed we were to have a low cost of power, causing our rigs to still be decently profitable. Granted, it's not the lowest cost of power in the country, but it was still lower than the national average. Because if this, we had friends and associates wanting to ship their rigs to us to host at our rate of power. Seeing this as a business oppurtunity, we happily obliged and ended up setting up a small shop to host these rigs out of. We made sure they had ample power, network, and cooling to comfortably house these miners, while the owners of the miners paid directly for power and a small "management fee" to help us cover the costs of this little operation.
